Do you ever feel like stress or emotion has taken over? You’re juggling family, work and life’s demands, but a passing comment or an unexpected turn of events can set off a chain reaction – leaving you feeling stressed, overwhelmed or maybe wondering: “What’s wrong with me?” 

I’m Caroline Birch, a somatic practitioner based in Sydney and working with people across Australia and beyond. For years, I lived in constant overwhelm, feeling like something was wrong with me for being so sensitive – so different from those around me. My emotions often felt like too much to handle and I honestly thought it was a curse I’d never escape. But here’s what I’ve learnt: your sensitivity isn’t a flaw – it’s your strength, a gift when you know how to work with it.  

Imagine living in complete trust of your body and it’s wisdom, having the freedom to experience cycles of stress and emotions without feeling destabilised. I support my clients to gently digest incomplete cycles of stress and emotion being held in their bodies from the past (that we all have), that keep you looping in old patterns and reactivity. You’ll learn how to create a trusting relationship with your body’s cues and instincts. No more suppressing emotion, saying yes when you want to say no or wronging yourself for your thoughts or feelings. You’ll become a natural at riding waves of stress and emotion, no longer weighed down by the weight of past experiences and reconnected with your instincts.

1. SOMATIC (body-led) COACHING

For those wanting to live less in their heads, more in their bodies. Overcome challenges with stress or emotion and learn to deeply trust your body and your instincts.

Do you ever feel like no matter what you try, you end up in the same loops—reacting, regretting and second-guessing? My somatic coaching sessions offer a personalised path to gently unravel the weight of undigested stress and emotions held in your body, giving you greater access to choice. In these one-on-one sessions, I support you to move beyond over-thinking and under-feeling (or feeling so much it de-stabilises you). With my support, you’ll learn how to tune in to the wisdom of your body and work with, and not against thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. In doing so, you’ll have greater access to stability, discernment and your innate instincts. 

You’ll learn to notice what’s happening in your body in real time, sensing the need of the moment. Somatic coaching supports you to cultivate the space to respond to life with greater presence instead of feeling overtaken by stress, emotion or reactivity.

I’m Caroline and I’m so happy you’re here. I used to live with anxiety and emotional chaos as daily companions. Every day, I felt like my emotions would swallow me whole. People told me I was “too sensitive”, “too emotional”, and honestly, I believed it. It wasn’t just the residue of undigested past experiences that held me back – it was the constant self-criticism, the harsh inner voice telling me I was wrong for feeling the way I did.

Through somatic work, I found that sensitivity wasn’t the problem - it was my unfelt emotions, patterned nervous system responses and critical inner voice that were keeping me stuck.  

Today, I’m known for being steady, grounded and present – something I never thought possible for me. Now, I help people like you to connect with their bodies, trust their instincts and learn how to ride waves of emotion with ease. Through a grounded somatic approach, led by you and your body, I help you feel more fully and freely yourself.
