The Elephant in the Wellness Room

There's a huge elephant in the wellness room that often doesn't get discussed. This omission does all of us health and wellbeing interested people a huge disservice and causes us to misuse a lot of time and money (IMO).

The elephant is: alignment.

Another way of saying alignment: congruency (or consistency) between our values, our thoughts, our choices and our actions.

When we're living with an ongoing incongruence or inner conflict, all the wellness practices in the world can't help us.

We might be meditating every day, eating organic and bio-dynamic, moving consistently, drinking the best quality water, taking high grade herbs and supplements - and we'll still feel drained.

All the bio-hacks in the world will not save us from upholding misalignment in our relationships, career, friendships, living situation or community.

Holding misalignment within our bodies is very energetically expensive.

Wanting one thing, but doing another takes a lot of life force.

Suppressing our emotions also suppresses our vitality.

Holding ongoing frustration, anger, resentment or fear in our bodies, makes us sick.

If you find yourself doing all the wellnessy things, and still feeling tired / drained / anxious /  pissed off / frustrated / flat / lethargic - you may like to reflect on the following:

Where in my life am I choosing or allowing something or someone to be in my life, that goes against what I know to be true, deep in my bones?

Where am I accepting something or someone to continue occupying my time and energy, despite everything inside me screaming in protest?

It's up to us to uphold the standards we want for our lives. And maintaining someone or something that exists in opposition to those standards will compromise our energy, our motivation, our health and our joy.

Walking away from those people or situations that are draining our life force, isn't always an easy process. Support is often needed. Sometimes it takes time, longer than we'd like, but even the act of deciding to change it and landing on our next step will start to free up life force energy.

Life on the other side, in absence of inner conflict or misalignment, is easier, more peaceful and far more energised. (No bio-hacks required :) )

Love,
Caroline
